Cliff Roberts, RFT, PMP
Partner & General Manager
One of the original eight Chartwell partners from 2000, what Cliff enjoys most in his role as General Manager are the relationships built thru 20 plus years of work. He has served on the board of the Consulting Foresters of British Columbia and more recently, on the council of the Association of the British Columbia Forest Professionals. He is passionate about the industry and is always looking for opportunities to give back. Outside the company, Cliff enjoys coaching his sons’ Rugby team and is involved with youth Hockey.
Lindsey McGill, P.Eng, RPF
Partner & Project Manager
Lindsey has been with Chartwell since 2006. He is also a member of Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals, and Associate Member of Association of Registered Professional Foresters of New Brunswick. Outside of work, Lindsey and his wife have two active and wonderful children. Whenever possible, he fits in a game of hockey.
Partner & GIS Manager
Eric has worked in the geospatial industry for over 20 years in a variety of disciplines in the public and private sectors. He joined Chartwell in 2002 and became a partner in 2010. As part of a talented GIS team, Eric leads technology development and is involved with high-level system design and deployment. He is responsible for managing the GIS department operations and ensuring that the services delivered meet the expectations of our clients. Working with clients on a diverse range of projects is a rewarding experience that he enjoys. Outside work, Eric spends his time with his family and playing outdoors on the North Shore.
Chris Beasy, BA, GISP
Project Manager - LiDAR Projects
Chris has worked at Chartwell since 2013 as a Project Manager focused on LiDAR projects and LandPlanner. With two Advanced Diplomas in Geomatics and 14 years of experience in his field, he chose to work with Chartwell based on their commitment to innovation. Chris has been on the Regional Board of Directors of the Puget Sound Region of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing since 2009. Away from the office, Chris spends his time traveling, working towards a clean environment, and outdoors with animals.
Rob Deines, RPF
Partner & Forester
One of the original partners of Chartwell Consultants Ltd., Rob has been integral to the evolution and growth of the company. A Registered Professional Forester and member of the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals, Rob’s primary role includes resource planning and implementation with a specific emphasis on the preparation of Forest Stewardship Plans, Woodlot Management, License Plans and Site Plans. Away from work, Rob enjoys spending time with family and friends. Traveling, skiing, playing hockey and involvement in his children’s recreational activities.
Ryan Biller, RPF
Partner & Forester
Starting out as an Assistant Engineer in 2003, Ryan worked his way into his current role as Forestry Manager and has been a Registered Professional Forester with the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals since 2008. He also became a Partner in 2011. Ryan’s role involves project management, timber supply planning, forestry field engineering, and professional document preparation such as site plan development, visual impact assessments, woodlot management/license plans and total chance plans. He also deals with the coordination and implementation of Chartwell’s resource management staff. As such, he has developed relationships with a variety of clients in the private, government and First Nation resource management sectors throughout British Columbia. Ryan also enjoys helping manage both of Chartwell’s Woodlot Licence’s (WL #1699 and #2111) and is a Director with the Fraser Valley Woodlot Association.
Partner & GIS Project Manager
Mathew joined the Chartwell team in 2010 as a GIS Technician. Now a GIS Project Manager, Mathew coordinates the deployment of web mapping and mobile GIS solutions that are tailored for work in the Utilities sector. He also oversees a variety of map production and data management projects. As an avid skier and backpacker, when he’s not in the office, you can usually find him scouting the local mountains.
Cherie has been with Chartwell since the beginning in 2000. Starting as the Mapping/GIS Manager and along the way transitioning into her current role as Operations Manager, Cherie looks after the day to day office life, human resources and financial business. Being part of the Management Team that grew this company to where it is today is a great source of pride for Cherie. In her free time, Cherie can be found with family and friends enjoying the outdoors either hiking or riding a horse. If she has to be inside, then her first choice is to go to the pottery studio and play with clay.
Ryan Turner, RPF
Partner, Forester & ISA Certified Arborist
Ryan has worked at Chartwell since 2008 and has been a partner in the company since 2010. Ryan is both a Registered Professional Forester and ISA Certified Arborist. He enjoys working for a diverse client base and strives to find innovative solutions to varying client needs. He can provide expertise at both the forest stand and individual tree level. Ryan served on the board of the Consulting Foresters of BC, mentored students at the University of British Columbia, and has volunteered to speak to elementary students about forestry. After work, Ryan enjoys road and trail running and playing hockey. He often takes advantage of the huge range of outdoor activities that the north shore of Vancouver has to offer. Ryan is currently training for his sixth marathon.
Chad Longland, RFT
Partner & Forest Technologist
Chad has been with Chartwell for over 10 years now and has been working in the industry for over 15 years. He has been a partner in Chartwell since 2016 and is looking forward to helping make Chartwell one of the best resource companies in the province. He spent the early part of his career learning his trade on the west coast of Vancouver Island and the Mid-coast. He has since worked in all the corners of the province on resource related projects. Away from work he enjoys his time coaching his two son’s in Soccer and Baseball and being with friends and family.
Partner & GIS Project Manager
Marianne has been with Chartwell since 2010 as Senior GIS Project Manager, and she also became a partner in 2016. Her role includes developing, maintaining and analyzing data in local and enterprise environments and she is responsible for coordinating and overseeing forestry operational mapping projects for various clients. With more than a decade of GIS experience in advanced spatial analysis and map production, Marianne is a seasoned and respected GIS team leader. Outside of work she combines her passions for running and travel by training for and participating in marathons all over the world.
Professional Forester/GIS Analyst
Lori has been with Chartwell since 2011. She is an experienced Professional Forester, GIS Analyst, and recently graduated from SFU/BCIT with an MSc. in Ecological Restoration with a focus on restoring riparian forests and associated fish habitat. Lori specializes in site plans, appraisals, visual impact assessments, silviculture project management, and mapping. She hopes to continue to expand her project base by working on ecological restoration, reclamation, and mitigation projects. With a background in both private and public sectors, Lori brings with her experience working with contractors, first nation groups, licensees, and the public.
Warren Hansen, RPF
Manager - Sunshine Coast
As a Professional Forester with Chartwell for 12 years, Warren has been involved in a number of projects such as managing the Sunshine Coast office; estimating logging/road building costs for forestry firms and energy developers; preparing land permit and licenses; license management and woodlot timber evaluations. Outside work, Warren is a passionate mountain biker and trail builder. President of the Trail Society and co-organizer of the Sunshine Coaster XC Marathon Mountain Bike Race, Warren was a 2017 finalist for the Kazlaw Community Award which recognizes riders who make a difference to their cycling community in British Columbia.
Nick Reinhardt, RPF
Project Manager & Forester
Nick started as a summer student in 2008, and has been a full-time employee since April 2009. His commitment to the next generation of industry professionals is actualized through his volunteer work with the UBC Tri-Mentoring Program, B.C. National Forest Week Coalition. Students connect with industry experts like Nick, while exploring career interests and gaining practical experience. In 2014, Nick made an heroic attempt to summit Mount Churchill on the Sunshine Coast. Unfortunately, the peak with only two recorded ascents, still only has two recorded ascents.
Simon Casley, M.Sc
Senior GIS Developer & DBA
With Chartwell since 2014, Simon is a GIS Developer and Database Specialist where he is responsible for maintaining and developing Chartwell’s enterprise spatial database. Simon has over 10 years of experience in the geospatial industry, including remote sensing and image analysis, ecological modelling and mapping, web GIS, writing code and scripts for spatial analysis, and project management. He volunteers as a ski instructor for Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports helping kids and adults with disabilities learn to ski and have fun on the mountain.
